Whenever daylight saving time begins in the spring, that usually means that our family takes anywhere from one week to one month tp adjusting to a new rhythm. I tried the slow transition moving bedtime earlier bit by bit over several days when my daughter was younger and it seemed to help, but this year I just wasn't that organized. So what's my solution? Brunch.
So the evening before you've changed all the clocks in the house right? Officially at 2 am it will be 3 am DST. When the children wake up at 6 am it will actually be 7am DST. Daylight savings time is the perfect opportunity to have a family brunch. If you don't move everything up in the day, and I tend to use meals as time markers throughout the day, then you'll find yourself at 7:00 pm. DST thinking you have plenty of time and within minutes you have an overtired family falling asleep at the table (if you're lucky) and throwing full out trantrums (if you're not).
