I was cleaning out my daugther's room today - we're moving soon and it's time to get packing. As I was cleaning I came across one of her favorite educational toys from when she was a baby, this puzzle board from Melissa and Doug that she used to learn how to use a zipper, fasten buttons, tie shoes, use latches, etc.
I put it in a pile to give-away and now she's playing with it again and doesn't want me to get rid of it - go figure!
Anyway, I really like educational toys that are also interesting and fun for my kids - an educational toy is no good if they won't play with it, but all my kids constantly play with their Melissa and Doug stuff. As I recally, this basic skills board was one of her favorites and apparently it still is.
If you have a little one that is getting to the age where they are learning to do all this fun stuff with their hands, this is a great, colorful, fun, and well-made toy that they will play with for a really long time. It's also put together so well that I think I might just keep it - I have no doubt that my grandkids will be able to play with it some day!
If you like educational toys, or your kids need some help with getting these skills down, be sure to check out the Melissa and Doug Basic Skills Board, you won't be sorry you did.
