There are great vacuum cleaners and there are good ones.  The Eureka Boss is one that could have been great, but falls short.  On the plus side, it is inexpensive and has a very long cord.  If does do a fairly decent job of picking up dirt and it's great on cat fur.  The on board tools are easy to use and the one they call the tiger paw is really great.  It's a beater bar attachment that comes in handy for furniture.  On the negative side the cleaner uses J type bags which are some of the smallest and most expensive.  The on off switch is foot activated and doesn't work half as well as it should.  Sometimes you have to kick it a few times to get it to stay running.  The button to make the vac go lower is also a bit hard to operate.  You have to step on it in just the right place.  The cord heats up quickly but hasn't seemed to cause a problem yet.  In my opinion it's just not worth the money it costs.  A Hoover is better hands down.
