Everyone loves the solid Renuzit air fresheners. They smell fantastic and look nice, for a few weeks at least. They dry up and you are left with a piece of hard stuff on a plastic pyramid. I found another use for these things. Once the solid has dried to hard little piece, carefully pull the two pieces of the holder apart. Save them if you want to use them for a crocheted doll or a tree for a Christmas display. There are a lot of uses for the plastic pieces. With a large pair of pliers or wire cutters pull the hard piece off the top. Grabbing it and twisting gently while pulling down will get it off. You can also cut it in pieces if you have a heavy duty pair of cutters. Once you have it off put it in a container of water. Make sure the container is large because this hard piece will triple in size. Let it sit and soak overnight or for a few hours and you have liquid potpourri that smells just like your air freshner. I put mine in a old liquid potpourri bottle. Give it a quick shake before you pour it into what you are going to use as a holder. Polar fruit comes in beautiful little glass jars. Once you eat the fruit ( and it's very good) wash the jar and use it to hold the liquid. It will be colored at first but then the color fades. The scent does not. At some point the solid will start to fall apart and you'll get little bits in your jars. Not a problem. When the pieces are gone, add another solid from your Renuzit collection.
