Nick Hotel in Orlando: Crazy Fun for Kids
Ages:
General Interest
By:Kathymcbain

If you are going to Disney World or are planning a hotel to the Orlando area for any other reason, you may want to consider adding on a night or two at the Nickelodeon Hotel. If you have kids that enjoy Nick shows, they will thank you forever!

The Nickelodeon Hotel in Orlando is a seriously wild hotel, but a place that kids love. Each room in the hotel is a suite - they have from 1 - 3 bedroom suites and almost all of them also have a pull-out couch in the living area. The kids rooms in each suite are decorated with full wall murals of differnet popular Nick show characters. The color schemes are bright and fun - some suites even feature bunk beds. Kids will love the rooms!

But the room is just the beginning of the fun.  The hotel also features two HUGE pools, complete with a bunch of water slides, a huge area for kids to play, and even a huge bucket that dumps "slime" on everyone standing near it. The outdoor area also has mini pool tables for kids, cabanas, staff-led games, and a bar (which you'll need).

Inside the resort, you'll find a huge arcade, live shows featuring popular Nick characters, character meals, shopping, a kids salon, a slime show, restaurants, and much more. Kids will feel like they've left real life and have stepped into the television set at this place.

As a fair warning to all parents, this hotel is extremely LOUD. It's made for kids and many parents allow their kids to really take advantage of that fact. No matter where you go, you'll come across excited, screaming children. Unless you are extremely patient or you really love being around thousands of other people's kids, it's recommended that you make this a two or three night stop, tops. You want to stay at the Nick hotel more than one night so you can really enjoy the pools and all the other cool stuff, but you probably don't want to stay for a week either. And, a word to the wise, bring ear plugs so you can sleep, the action can go on long into the night!

This place is like the Four Seasons for little kids. It's really a great time as long as you remember that the entire place is designed for kids and not for you! It's a great add-on to a Disney World package as I wouldn't suggest making an entire vacation just out of this hotel.

Just came back and stayed there. Fabulous. Also, kitchenettes in the rooms, a little grocery store on site, and a laundry room if you need it. Best vacation ever.

Warning! Unless you are a kid at heart and don't mind noisy happy kids, STAY AWAY! However, this grandmother enjoyed a second family visit, after going there with a good understanding of what the place was all about. Be sure to make reservations for audience participation shows as soon as you register. Have fun and bring your ear plugs.

If you are member of AAA you maybe able to get a discount. The kids bedrooms are very small.
