I love this craft from Family Fun for woven sunflowers made from paper plates and yarn! We are in the middle of making these flowers (I will post pictures once we are done) and they are really easy. The instructions are pretty clear; basically the idea is that you cut an odd number of petals around the edge of a paper plate and paint it yellow; then you string yellow yarn between each petal, making spokes; and you finish with a darker colored yarn that is weaved through the spokes created with the yellow yarn. The weaving is time-consuming, but I find that helpful if I'm looking for an activity that my kids aren't going to race through.
