This article from Reader's Digest is fabulous! It tells 13 things a burglar won't tell you, but they did tell Reader's Digest. There is also a link to 8 more things on the page, so be sure to click that too. Here are some examples:

1. Of course I look familiar. I was here just last week cleaning your carpets, painting your shutters, or delivering your new refrigerator.

2. Hey, thanks for letting me use the bathroom when I was working in your yard last week. While I was in there, I unlatched the back window to make my return a little easier.

I read this and the following set of tips in their entirety and although they may be helpful to some, I have to say...tips one and two (quoted above) are really dangerous, especially in this "statement" form. Maybe they are not well presented or poorly formulated, but they are incredibly CLASSIST...regardless of whether or not this OCCASIONALLY MIGHT happen. Sure it's common sense to be careful in these situations, but most working class people are just that...working class people...quotes 1 and 2 are too close to criminalizing an entire level of the workforce. That is more harmful than helpful in my opinion.
