For years I have been buying the four pound box of baking soda at Costco and adding it to the litter box to eliminate cat urine odor. Since it worked so well on that I decided it was time to research more applications and I found this great site which lists the many ways you can use this stuff. I had heard you can make baking soda toothpaste, and it's good for odor control, but I had no idea of its amazing power in so many different areas, like cleaning onion or garlic smells from your hands and cutting boards. And there's so much more. For example, tip # 41 suggested using it for cleaning scuff marks off of linoleum. Well, we have had those scuff marks for almost a year when the plumber came to fix a leaky pipe. Guess what? I made a paste of it and the marks disappeared. Suggestion #31 says to use it on icy sidewalks instead of salt. I think I'll try that this winter.
