The San Diego Zoo has compiled a list of recipes that kids can make. They matched each letter in the alphabet with an animal and then they created a recipe that goes with each letter.
Each recipe also tells a little bit about the animal. For instance, the recipe for Warthog Waffles explains that warthogs are omnivores from Africa and will eat just about anything. They are most active early in the day, so they need a good breakfast.
Warthog Waffles entail heating a frozen waffle (get one with whole grains), spreading a bit of warmed creamy peanut butter on top, and adding a layer of mashed banana, and topping with a few fresh apple rings. Yum.
They also have a tasty-looking recipe for Vulture Vegetable Bites. I'm very happy they didn't take a literal interpretation of what vulture's eat. We're fairly adventuresome eaters, but we draw the line at carrion.
