Helping Your Child Deal with Anger

Anger is a part of life just as much as happiness, fear and excitement.  Yet, we sometimes find that anger is so much more diffiult to deal with.  Rather than send your child the message that anger is "bad" (which we know is not true), why not help her find new ways to deal with it?  Well-adjusted children learn how to cope with and resolve anger, rather than acting out and causing problems for themselves or others.  Start teaching your child the best ways to process and resolve her anger, as well as how to express it appropriately.  You'll be glad you did.

This link will take you to the some of the best books available to help your child.  All have been hand selected by a child and family therapist.

Thank you for posting this. Good resources. I'd like to add a few book recommendations: Beyond Consequences, Logic, and Control by Heather Forbes and Bryan post; The Great Behavior Breakdown by Bryan Post and a website, http://www.celebratecalm.com by Kirk Martin. I will probably start my own post with these resources. Thanks for motivating me. I have three angry kids of my own. We are working hard for healing, teaching them to work with their feelings, not against them.
