A recent study found high lead levels in ordinary garden hoses.  In some cases, the amount of lead in the hose water was 20 times higher than what the EPA allows for drinking water.  A scary thought given how many kids (and pets) drink from these hoses.  This page also includes recommendations on how to protect your family from garden hose lead.
