If you live in Needham, MA, and have kids 5 & under, you should join Parent Talk.  They are an amazing parents organization that organizes playgroups, moms' nights out, many kid events, and a monthly newsletter.  They also coordinate an amazing used clothing, toy & equipment sale in the spring, have a family playroom for members and have member discounts for many area businesses [including the Charles River YMCA].
