Penzeys is a terrific mail order spice company that now has a retail location in Arlington. They carry any kind of spice you could name from all over the world, and the prices are excellent. Their spices are much fresher than what you buy in the supermarket. They also carry unique spice mixes. My favorite is the Taco Seasoning Mix, which you just add to ground beef or turkey. It is great, and much less salty than those packets from the store. Another favorite is the Greek Seasoning, which I use to marinate lamb, and it is outstanding. Also try their Vietnamese Cinnamon, which is probably better than any cinnamon you have ever had, and their Vanilla extract, which is also excellent.
