Great "Learn to Read" website for kids

I found this great little interactive website called Starfall for kids that helps in all stages of learning to read.  From letter recognition to phonics and sounds to early reading, it's a really cute way to get your kids to reinforce their reading skills.

It's very cute, completely free, and one of the better ones I've found out there.

If your child is able to read you should check out bookadventure.com. This site allows you child to test their comprehension after reading their favorite book.

This website is wonderful, children in elementary school in Chicago are usually asked to go in at school. This activity can be part of the reading block time or library technology time. I have used this site at home and they have accompanying workbooks that can be purchased as well.

Just started this with my 2 1/2 year old a couple of weeks ago. He learned all his lower case letters AND his phonics already! What a fantastic site! It's his special "treat" time of the day and he always says "More 'Pooter (computer) Games!"

My son's school recommended this one and he as been using it and loves it. The songs are catchy and I have learned a few tricks that I don't believe I have ever heard. I don't have to help him with words as the program does it. Makes him feel more independent too!

I'm a kindergarten teacher and my students use Starfall in our computer lab. There are many activities that have tied in beautifully with the themes we teach, as well as some wonderful ones for teaching letter and sound awareness. The kids love it and it's easy for them to navigate.

LOVE this website!!! The graphics, animation and sound effects are great, and there are cute little surprise effects with many of the activities. My 4 and 5 yr old daughters have so much fun with it they don't even realize they're learning :)!! Highly recommended!

My daughters preschool teacher recommended this site to us a few years ago and my kids absolutely LOVE it! It's fun and educational and they can do it on their own. She actually will help her little brother do it now. Definitely worth checking out!
