Adoption Community of New England is a non-profit membership organization that has been around for 40 years and is formerly know as Open Door Society. The goals and services that they provide include all those touched by adoption.
They offer Educational and Support Programs throughout the year.
Each spring they put together the largest single day conference of its type with people coming from as far away as California to participate. It is truly an amazing day and full of great information for those that are thinking of adoption, parents in waiting and those that are already part of the adoption triad.
By becoming a member you will receive a quarterly newsletter as well as access to the different programs that they offer. They have a lending library of over 1000 adoption related audio, video (tapes and DVD) as well as printed materials that can be sent via mail to members.
There are several chapters located within Massachusetts and Vermont as well as a NH Chapter and RI Chapters. With each chapter planning events from family events to Ladies Night Out.
As an adoptive mother I have found the Adoption Community of New England extremely beneficial in my adoption journey.
