For years, even pre-kids, I've taken shortcuts to delicious meals that tast gourmet and take only a few minutes. Stonewall Kitchen makes amazing marinades, mustards, dressings, jams, etc. You can get them at many supermarkets (Whole Foods, Roche Bros, etc.) or online. Toss any kind of meat in a tupperware with one of the marinades a few hours before or the night before. Then just toss it in the oven, cook some rice and steam some veggies and you have a delicious, healthy meal. The maple-chipotle and teriyaki marinades are especially good. There is another one with wasabi in the name that we use on fish which we then broil in foil. So easy! Comments
This is a great tip. Like Kim, we've done this for years with no kids in the house. We usually make our own marinades (there are some really easy combinations you can concoct yourself) but Stonewall has a great variety and they're good to have on hand when you look in your crystal ball and say, "Yep, we will have zero time for food prep tonight/tomorrow/whenever!"
