"Eat your vegetables!" It's the universal dinner time battle :) Lucky for me I found a great way to present broccolli that any kid will eat without requiring a mountain of cheese on top! Tyler Florence has a really good recipe for fancy smashed broccolli that eats like mashed potatoes....mmm, mmm! Here's my adaptation: In the bottom of a saucepan sautee one clove of crushed garlic in olive oil, add chopped broccolli, add enough chicken stock to cover broccolli, boil until very soft. Drain liquid, add a little bit of milk or cream and mash just like mashed potatoes. Serve w/ chicken and pasta... your kids will love it!
