Move over Dr. Phil because Dr. Sharon is here. That's right. Clinical psychologist Dr. Sharon Buchalter has written a book that focuses on how to raise successful children, while teaching adults to improve their own lives.
"Children are People Too" offers examples and exercises to help parents with those routine problems. Take the typical teenager who wants to stay out late with kids the parents have not met. What to say without setting off WWIII?
Dr. Sharon uses techniques she learned working with corporate managers. Just as successful businesses included their employees in setting goals and reached higher productivity, higher morale and higher sales, parents can do the same. Including children in the decision-making process makes them feel respected and that breeds confidence.
In her book, Dr. Sharon also talks about the eight secrets to unlocking the pyramid of success. Those secrets include positive self-esteem, positive attitude, good motivation, a sense of empathy towards others, and effective problem solving.
From the moment you first learn that you're having a baby, a child, you wonder what type of parent you'll be and hope your child will be healthy and most importantly-just happy. What if you're a parent of one or more children, either a toddler, tweens, or teens or a combination. Maybe you're thinking "is there an easier way to communicate and discipline my children with less arguing and negative vibes?" Now you have another option. It worked for me and my daughter.
