Here’s an article from The Boston Globe reviewing new holiday music CDs.  My personal new favorite holiday CD is one that came out last year by Aimee Mann, called One More Drifter in the Snow.  It has very mellow versions of Christmas classics with a couple of new songs, including one she did with her husband, Michael Penn.
