When my son was 12 months, his pediatrician informed me that his iron level was a little low. She gave me a list of high iron foods, like spinach, whole grains and iron fortified snacks and cereals- but three foods that I stumbled upon myself are molasses, wheat germ and pumpkin seeds. I smash up some pumpkin seeds (which Aidan loves to watch), and add those, along with molasses and wheat germ to some plain yogurt- add a little agave syrup- and you have a very healthy, high iron breakfast or snack! Obviously, do not add pumpkin seeds if your doctor hasn't given the OK to nuts and seeds! Comments
