| +8 | Check out Parlee Farm in Tyngsboro, MA |
This is a fantastic Farm/Orchard to bring children of all ages. They are open from June - September and offer so many fun activities, it's worth going back several times during the season. They have pick your own fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apples, and pumpkins in the fall). In the fall they have hay rides out to the apple and pumpkin orchards. There is a small petting zoo where you can feed the goats, bunnies, sheep, etc. There is also a farm stand with baked goods, fruits and vegetables, and Country Kitchen stand where you can buy ice cream, strawberry shortcake and/or really good coffee. My favorite time to go is later in the summer when they have pick your own flowers. There is a huge field of colorful flowers and we've taken some wonderful pictures in the fields there. Finally, in the fall they put out a maze of hay bales that children love to climb all over. There is no admission fee - you only pay for what you purchase. It's just a really fun and inexpensive way to spend an afternoon! Comments
Love Parlee Farms! It's a bit of a hike for us from Newton but has the BEST blueberries in the area, and my girls love the Annie's Barn petting farm area with the "goats in the trees." Jumping on the hay bale mini-maze is a blast, and the ice cream is good too.
