Some PG or PG13, or even some R, movies are ok for my kids and some are absolutely not, but unless I saw the movie, I couldn't tell. Of course, if I saw it, then I couldn't take the kids without having to see it (and pay for it) twice. I am so happy I found this website. They rate every movie for sex, violence and language, and give a detailed (I mean really detailed) description of every incidence of sex, violence and languange in context, so you can decide if it's ok for your family. They also provide talking points to discuss the main themes with your kids, and to really get out any moral lessons that might be available.
