A great way to show your love of animals and get rid of old linens, without trashing them, is to donate them to your local animal shelter. Linens are needed for bedding, grooming, etc. And hey while you are there, adopt a new family member! I had a wonderful experience adopting a Pit Bull terrier in Montclair, NJ. Contrary to popular belief, Amalia was caring, sweet and extraordinarily well behaved. Just a thought!

I put a big box of linens on freecycle.org and they were immediately snatched up by a lady who works at a shelter. She said they can also use pillowcases, because they line the bottom of the cat carriers with them.
