Want to clean out some old toys and clothes, but hate to just throw them away?  Make sure those items go to someone who can really use them.  Why not consider donating them to your local Domestic Violence Shelter?  As a parent, and as an employee at a Women's Shelter, I can assure you that it will benefit everyone.  The women and children at the shelter will be thrilled to have the help and there's no better way to know that your children's items are being put to good use.  Imagine a scared, lonely child that has been taken from home and all their own belongings, receiving a teddy bear that you donated.  To find a shelter near you, check your phone book listings under services and organizations, or contact a local church, hospital, or police department.
