I have been using Galloping Minds Flash Cards for teaching my daughter the alphabet, numbers and phonics.
General description: Post Card Size and uv coated with beautiful images. Robust to minimize the toddler chew-effect.
Alphabet Flash Cards - 26 in count. Each card has capitals and lower case letters. They're quite attractive.
Every letter has a few words associated with the letter. I generally read the words on the cards aloud and then point at the letter. My daughter, repeats the words after me. She loves the colors and beautiful images and spends a good amount of time just looking at the cards.
The Phonics Flash Cards - about 36 blends, which include consonant and vowel digraphs, initial consonant blends and final consonant blends. Each blend is associated with a beautiful image and a few words to help your child grasp. On an average every blend has about 3 words associated with it. It's great for building my daughters vocabulary.
Numbers and Animals Flash Cards: There are 20 cards.
Each number card has a cute animal associated with it. I point at the number on the card and then my daughter counts the animals.

My kids love the Leap Frog videos, and they have phonics flash cards that go with the movie. The learning is reenforced by both video and cards, plus, the learning is added again with the songs that they continue to sing throughout the day.
