| New | SOHO Shopping With Your Teen: 3 Shops That Won't Empty Your Wallet |
OK, so your teen doesn't want you along on their Soho shopping adventure but you are going anyway, keeping a tight hand on your cash and credit cards. Fear not the mobs of young people on the streets; they are just there to shop or to be seen. It is your teen and their careless disregard for prices that should have you on high alert. Fear not, here are three suggestions, stores I have visited on numerous occassions with my teen, where your hard earned money will at least buy more than one t-shirt for $80. All of these stores are on lower Broadway between Houston and Canal. First stop walking north along Broadway from Canal is a store called Yellow Rat Bastard located at 483 Broadway. Very hip trendy clothes for teens (male and female) and a vast selection. Parents beware, music is played in this store at the highest possible volume (parent deterrent?) so you may want to wait outside. Prices vary but there are tons of T-shirts here at reasonable prices along with other gear. Second stop for the sporty set is the PUMA store located at 521 Broadway. Two levels of trendy sneakers and clothes for teen boys and girls; this is the most expensive of the three on the list but worth a look. My final pick, very trendy and holding the best bargains per square inch in Soho is the Uniglo store located at 546 Broadway. Fairly new to Broadway, this store, which originated in Japan, translates very nicely to the American teen market.
