Whether you’re in the mood for a learning experience or simply some fun, the Tyler Arboretum has it all. The historic arboretum is filled with unique plant collections, education programs, and 20-plus miles of hiking trails. But probably the highlight at Tyler is the new tree house trail. The creators are local Philadelphia artists and professionals, from fields like architecture, carpentry, landscape design, metalworks and furniture-making.
 

Or maybe you would enjoy Tyler Arboretum's Butterfly House and Garden? It's a unique opportunity to learn about, photograph and get up-close to local butterflies in their natural setting. Although the arboretum is open year-round, check the website for seasonal schedules of events, fees and hours of operation. However, kids under three are admitted for free.
