Once the kids are going to school or daycare, it's easy for parents to unknowingly get caught in the seemingly endless parade of preschooler birthday parties. Trying to keep things interesting for the party crowd, within reasonable budgetary bounds, can test the limits of creativity. And for a decent-sized class, inviting and accommodating everyone can limit venue options.
We recently had a pretty fun experience at a birthday party for a preschooler buddy - and his toddler little brother. Lots of kids of different ages, many of whom were siblings, meaning either both parents or extra hands arrived as well.
So the idea their parents came up with was to watch a movie.
The Ambler Theater in Ambler, PA, rents out its big screens during the weekends. On Saturdays from 9 am to noon, and Sundays from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm, parents can share a favorite DVD with up to 65 (or more) guests for a fair price.
Even though it was a film most of the kids have probably seen at home, watching it on the big screen was a treat for everyone, and for the most part all the little guests were riveted. Afterwards, lobby space was available for the parents to bring in lunch and birthday cake.
It's advertised as first-come, first-serve, so for availability and pricing, check out the website!
