Right in the downtown area is a great interactive fountain that kids can play in until their hearts' content. The water is always quite... let's say refreshing so it's not always a good thing in the winter. There are benches for adults but beware there is not a lot of shade in the immediate vicinity.

My two boys love it and we go often. We bring towels and a change of clothes and then afterward we like to stroll around the town or grab a slice at Village Pizza.
