After doing some research, I have found a few helpful recipes for green, simple, earth friendly, home made cleaning supplies. I have found recipes for baking soda scrub (like comet), all purpose spray, shower spray, dishwasher detergent, furniture polish, and laundry detergent. My favorite "secret" ingredient is in the furniture polish. Just mix infused oil, infused vinegar, and vodka and you have a good replacement for pledge.
If you are thinking of making earth friendly cleaning supplies, stick to the basics first: for a scrub, halve a lemon and dip the fruit part into baking soda. Use the lemon as your scrubber on any hard surface. This smells great and works very well. For a disinfectant, drop some of your favorite smelling herbs into white vinegar. Let it infuse for a couple of weeks. Pour the infused vinegar into a spray bottle and you're ready to disinfect everything in sight.
The only downfall to using vinegar based cleaning supplies is the smell. I've found that the best herb to use for infusion is mint. If you use mint, you'll still smell the vinegar, but the mint will be the more lasting scent.
If you don't want to make your own cleaning products. Try searching online for them.
