On a rainy or cold day when everyone in your house is getting board, take your swim suit and towel and head to Ray's Splash Planet!  The Charlotte Mecklenburg Parks and Recreation run facility is fun for the whole family.  For just $6 per person, you can swim, slide down the slide, get swept away in the "washing machine" vortex, play water basket ball, and more.  There's a concession stand inside where you can purchase snacks and drinks.  Ray's Splash Planet also has locker room facilities for women, men, and families.  There are lifeguards on duty at all times, so you don' t have to worry if the kids are playing and you want to sit on the poolside.  The only draw back to RSP is the noise factor.  The indoor park is very loud due to children laughing and water splashing.  Plan on taking your family for a couple of hours.  More than that will only lead to pruney fingers and tired grumpy children.
