I had been trying to lose ten pounds but not getting very far. Then I discovered that Weight Watchers has a new completely online service. That means, for busy moms, you don’t have to worry about going to a weekly meeting. You can do your whole program online! You log in your weight once a week (honor system), and they have a detailed tracking system that allows you to log in everything you eat and which adds up your points for you. The best new thing they have is a handy calculating tool, so if you have the nutritional info for a particular food, you plug in the calories, fat and fiber, and they tell you how many points it is. I like WW because it’s a sensible way to lose weight and you don’t feel like you’re on a “diet,” because you can eat what you want, just in smaller portions, and therefore eat in a more healthful way. They have a three-month promotional offer. And, I lost four pounds in two weeks! Comments
WW also do at work programs and, if you work, it is worth checking if your place of work can organize something with them. Plus they may work with your health insurance. In my case I take 30 minutes out of work to go to the meeting room to get weighted, plus have the useful info they share at the meeting. My insurance reimburses $150 per year, which made the 17 weeks program almost free (well we have a big group too, which gave a better rate). You also get free use of WW Online for 19 weeks. As you say it is a sensible way to loose and maintain weight. They look at the whole attitude, nutrition and exercise. I had never joined or been on a diet program, but I now had some extra weight to loose and I am enjoying this one a lot. It does work, after all anyone can loose weight if they set their mind to it, the crux is to maintain it and that is the wisdom I am hoping for once I reach my goal.
